Siemens Canada has announced that a new PROFIBUS PA Certified Engineer training course will be offered in Peterborough, Ont. Engineers who complete this training are awarded certified engineer status by Profibus & Profinet International.

This course represents the first Profibus & Profinet International-certified training course in Canada – the organization has only certified 22 other training centres worldwide. Previously, the closest PROFIBUS-certified training centre for Canadians is located in Johnson City, Tenn. Distributors and salespeople from across Canada will now be able to save on travel costs by completing their certification at Siemens’ state-of-the-art training facility located in Peterborough.

The Training Centre has a spacious training room with each station fully equipped for exploring the finer points of PROFIBUS PA.

“The Siemens Peterborough training facility is a first-rate operation,” said John Swindall, auditor for Profibus & Profinet International. “The PA training can provide a ‘jump-start’ to your level of PROFIBUS PA experience without the pain of having to survive the ‘been there, done that’ phase of learning a new fieldbus.”

The first PROFIBUS-certified course at the Peterborough facility will begin November 14, 2011. For course details and registration information, visit http://us.profibus.com/training_display.aspx?pagetype=certified&eventid=319.
