Nov. 18, 2014 – Described as sleek, strong and fast, the 6-axis MA2010 arc welding robot from Yaskawa Motoman features a 10-kg payload, up from 3 kg on the previous MA1900 model.

Additionally, compared to the MA1900, the new MA2010 boasts a 23 per cent larger wrist hole for utilities and has a 6 per cent longer reach. Available in floor-, wall- or ceiling-mounted configurations for workcell flexibility, the part features a new contoured arm structure that claims to reduce interference by enlarging the close-range motion area of the robot, optimal for welding large workpieces and reaching over jigs, it says. The MA2010 offers a 2,010-mm horizontal reach, 3,649-mm vertical reach and ±0.08-mm repeatability.
