Pepperl+Fuchs F190 RFID reader transmits data in bundles

Feb. 1, 2015 – Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced the F190 UHF read/write head, which boasts a sealed metal housing and a compact footprint for reliable operation in adverse environmental conditions and simple installation in tight spaces.

Because several products in a container can be detected at the same time using multi-tag reading, the F190 simultaneously simplifies processes and reduces processing time, says Pepperl+Fuchs. UHF-labels are directly attached to the products, and when the labels move into the read field, the label information is transmitted to the read head and then to the IDENTControl interface. The unit transmits data in bundles, enabling information from up to 40 tags to be transmitted to the read head in a single step. It can be integrated into existing IDENTControl systems, enabling users to connect to standard protocols such as Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, TCP/IP and EtherCAT. The typical read range is 0.2 m to 1.5 m.
