Feb. 16, 2018 – Danfoss, a manufacturer of high-efficiency electronic and mechanical components and controls, is accepting entries for its ninth annual EnVisioneer of the Year award competition.
Launched in 2010, the competition recognizes North American original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), building owners, municipalities, contractors and end-users that have introduced a new product, opened a new facility, or invested in a building or system upgrade in the past 18 months using Danfoss products or solutions to realize energy and environmental savings.
Interested participants may enter the competition by submitting an application by June 1. Applications will be reviewed and selected by a panel of third-party judges representing various disciplines.
Last year, Danfoss presented the award to Welbilt’s brand Delfield, a custom stainless-steel refrigeration equipment manufacturer. Delfield used Danfoss thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controls to help optimize its foodservice refrigeration equipment. By integrating these technologies, Delfield converted its portfolio from R-404A, an HFC refrigerant, to R-290, a natural hydrocarbon — reducing global warming potential by more than 99 per cent. It was also able to lower refrigerant charge by 40 to 80 per cent to reduce equipment footprint and cut energy consumption by up to 50 per cent.
