Apr. 3, 2018 – Handling Specialty describes its four-post electro-mechanical lifting systems as a “superior alternative” to fixed height work stands or scaffolding.

Alternatively, these systems can be configured to position the turbine itself to the correct elevation for ergonomic and safe access by the technicians, it says. According to Handling Specialty, electro-mechanical actuation packages offer various advantages over hydraulic systems and are engineered to suit within existing building constraints and layouts.

Control of all axis of motion can be fully automated or sequenced by operator intervention, says the company. Operator interfaces range from push buttons to touchscreen HMIs for communication between the user and the control system. Full colour visual displays of the equipment, security access login, data collection, performance optimization, maintenance planning and diagnostic tools are a few typical features that can be incorporated into the system controls.
