July 9, 2019 – Averna, provider of automated test and quality solutions for manufacturing, has appointed François Rainville president and CEO of the Montreal-based company.

On June 1, 2019, Rainville took over from former CEO and president André Gareau, who has moved to a new position as executive chairman of the board.

Gareau took leadership at Averna in June 2012, with Rainville joining shortly after. Under their combined leadership, Averna has grown 300 per cent, going from three to 10 locations worldwide, including offices throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

“Averna’s performance has always been a team effort. Our DNA is composed of the passion from each individual in our offices,” says Gareau in a release. “Francois represents all of this with the ability to recognize talent and set a trusted and positive work environment.”

Moving forward, Gareau will focus on Averna’s mergers and acquisitions development strategy with Rainville and the leadership team.

Rainville will continue to lead the development, strategy and operations of the company and remain a catalyst of growth and performance. A seasoned technology entrepreneur, he started with Averna as VP of sales and marketing. In 2017, Rainville became the company’s chief operating officer.

“With the test and quality industry going through a new revolution in smart manufacturing and multiple fast-moving innovations, Averna is very well positioned to partner with its global customers to successfully tackle the challenges brought by new product design and manufacturing,” says Rainville. “I am honoured to step in as CEO and president and look forward to continuing my work with André and our global teams in this role.”
