Mar. 25, 2017 – Construction of a new logistics and distribution centre for Big Kaiser’s parent company, Big Daishowa Seiki Co. Ltd., is now complete.

The new facility joins five existing factories on the Japanese island of Awaji. The 130,000 sq. ft. building nestled on a 300,000 sq. ft. parcel cements the “dedication to providing customers with correct products in a streamlined process,” says the company.

Automation is “prevalent throughout” the logistics and distribution centre, says Big Daishowa, noting an automatic material handling system, inspection systems and robotic stacking of tooling on pallets for shipment, as well as a lift picking system and a two-dimensional hand controller and voice guidance system to minimize picking errors.

The centre also offers a classroom-style presentation room overlooking the distribution area.

According to the manufacturer, 15,000 unique part numbers totalling 1.5 million overall products are stocked here.
