Red Dot Award: Product Design winners released, two Canadian companies included in Industrial Design and Robotics category

April 23, 2025, Essen, Germany — The winners of the 2025 Red Dot Awards for product design have been released, with 235 winners taking home the honours in the Industrial Design and Robotics category.

The category encompasses tools, industrial equipment, machinery, automation and robotics.

The Best of the Best distinction in the robotics category went to KUKA Deutschland GmbH for their KR FORTEC ultra PA palletizing robot, specifically the model with a payload capacity of 800 kg. KUKA received an additional award for the KR FORTEC 470 kg payload model.

No Best of the Best was named in the Industrial Equipment, Machinery and Automation category, with some winners including Honeywell, Delta Electronics, Moxa Inc., OPEX and more.

There were two products manufactured in Canada represented, with Blackline Safety winning for their EXO 8 area monitor and Ross Video winning for their Artimo free-roaming robotic camera system.

The Red Dot Award has been handed out since 1955, recognizing products that stand out for their exceptionally high design quality, the company reported on their website.

The independent Red Dot Jury evaluates entries based on four core principles of good design: function, seduction, use and responsibility.

In 2025, the jury was composed of 43 experts from 21 countries – including designers, professors, journalists and consultants from various disciplines.

The entries came from over 60 nations and were carefully assessed and discussed during intensive judging sessions, the company said on their website.
