The second panel discussion of the day will explore the crucial theme of amplifying the voices of women in the manufacturing workplace and empowering them to communicate their thoughts powerfully. This session will center around the pivotal concepts of allyship and advocacy, shedding light on the ways in which women can proactively champion their own voices and cultivate strong alliances to foster career advancement. Speakers will share self-advocacy strategies and discuss how to build a network of supportive allies.

Jenny Boudreau

Jenny Boudreau is an experienced senior executive with proven results in developing, implementing, and managing effective global supply chains. She specializes in finding efficiencies by innovating and influencing to save companies millions of dollars in supply chain costs. She has strong experience leading full end-to-end global supply chain teams encompassing contracting, logistics, distribution, production and demand planning. She is a trained communicator with a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and served for 10+ years with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Naval Communicator. Prior to her role at Saint-Gobain, which she began in 2021, Jenny has served as senior vice-president of procurement at Trip Arc, vice-president of strategic sourcing at Chefs Plate, vice-president of supply chain of Freshii, and several business management roles at Cara Operations. Jenny is a member of Saint-Gobain’s Women’s Network and Veterans Employee Resource Groups and mentors graduates of Humber College in the field of Supply Chain.


Mariela Castano-Kunst

Mariela Castaño-Kunst is an industrial engineer by trade. She has over 35 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, and continuous improvement. She has worked for Kraft (Coffee Division) as a manufacturing engineer – leader of continuous improvement and at Nestle Waters as regional continuous improvement manager, and for the last 18 years, Mariela has been a leading principal at Kunst Solutions an Enterprise Process Improvement Solutions provider. Mariela is a Six Sigma Black Belt with a passion for “working with less” and a sharp eye for waste reduction. As a female providing her ability and credibility as an Engineer, while developing and deploying tactile tools for the implementation of Lean Manufacturing makes her a much in-demand resource and coach to other organizations and female professionals.

 


Sarah MacKinnon
Sarah has been part of Delta-Q Technologies since 2012 when she joined the company as CFO. In that role, Sarah worked closely with the CEO/co-founder and board of directors on driving topline growth and profitability, resulting in the acquisition of Delta-Q by ZAPI GROUP. In 2019, Sarah was appointed co-CEO, along with Steve Blaine. As co-CEO, Sarah is responsible for all aspects of strategy, people, and operations of the company, in addition to her CFO role. Prior to joining Delta-Q, Sarah held a number of key senior finance roles over a 15-year period, primarily focused in the clean technology sector, in both private and public companies. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
