Adithya Rao
Adithya Rao is a supply chain expert with a background in leading organizations through digital transformations in their supply chains. With over 12 years of experience across operations, IT, and AI in supply chains, he has played a key role in driving innovation through technology. Now serving as an investment director at Scale AI, Rao is dedicated to helping Canadian organizations unlock the benefits of AI to address supply chain issues. He’s actively involved in developing next-generation capabilities through Canadian AI experts that aim to set a global standard for supply chain excellence.


Dr. Mihaela Vlasea
Dr. Vlasea is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department and the Co-Director of the Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing Laboratory. Her research focuses on innovative design, process optimization and adoption of new materials for powder bed fusion and powder bed binder jetting additive manufacturing processes. The research goals are to bridge the technological gaps necessary to improve part quality, process repeatability and reliability. She holds a PhD in Mechatronics engineering, with achievements in the development open architecture binder jetting and laser-based additive manufacturing systems with custom capabilities.

In recognition of her scholarly work, student mentorship, and industry outreach, she was recognised as the SME 20 Most Influential Academics in 2021 and as the SME Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer in 2020.


Steve Bassaw
For over 20 years Steve Bassaw has been passionate about using technology to improve manufacturing and supply chain processes. At SYSPRO he has held diverse roles such as Product Management, Solution Architect, Consulting, and Support. In supply chain he has experience in Planning, Scheduling, and Purchasing and has the ASCM CSCP designation (Certified Supply Chain Professional). Steve also works with universities such as BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) as Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Business/IT program, and is a longtime member of BCIT’s Mentorship Program.
