A Lasalle, Ont. solar plant is closing just months after it moved into a renovated plastics factory.
United Solar says demand for solar panels is declining worldwide, and it is closing all four of its plants, including those in Michigan and Mexico.
A company spokesman says it’s temporary, and that they’re hoping to reopen sometime in the new year depending on demand for the commercial-grade solar panels.
In the meantime, 20 full-time employees at the Lasalle plant have been told they are out of work, effective immediately.
