MTS Sensors RT4 linear position sensor

Sept. 15, 2015 – MTS Sensors has expanded its R-series of magnetostrictive position sensors with a device it says has the “capacity to deliver superior reliability and industry-leading accuracy in even the most demanding work environments.”

Utilizing the company’s Temposonics technology, the RT4 is a linear position measurement solution that features two independent sensor elements — each with a measuring length of 50 mm to 2540 mm. Targeted at use in steel processing plants, lumber mills and power generation sites, the sensor employs a Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI), which means that data transfer is less susceptible to the presence of electro-magnetic interference, according to MTS. The sensor boasts a temperature range of up to 100 C for the sensor rod and interconnection cables.
