Mar. 24, 2016 – Kontron says its latest generation of HMI solutions, FusionClient, is a “crucial part” of its IIoT-ready industrial computer platform family.

Noting “user experience, reliability, scalability and connectivity” as top priorities, the company says the HMI combines an edgeless, pure glass multi-touch interface with the Kontron COM express computer-on-module. Wi-Fi-enabled for increased connectivity with plant machinery and other connected devices, the unit is suitable for use with real-time SCADA and manufacturing execution systems (MES) monitoring and control applications. In addition to the W-LAN and LED alarm bar options for tracking and checking machine issues, a RFID reader can also be mounted behind the glass to secure user access. Single pane of glass views of the entire production process across individual or multiple sites promise to result in increased productivity and more informed and timely decision making. The FusionClient is also prepared for gesture recognition, which enables direct user interaction without touching. Displays will be available in 10.1-in., 15.6-in., 18.5-in. and 21.5-in. sizes in both landscape and portrait versions.
