Flir introduces PTU-5 compact pan/tilt unit

Apr. 15, 2017 – Standing at six inches tall when fully integrated, the new Flir PTU-5 promises to hold up to five pounds on its top bracket, boasting “incredible performance into a compact package.”

According to the company, the PTU-5 claims to be more accurate than many other systems “thanks to the absolute encoders used on the drive axes,” as it delivers “class-leading” speed and accuracy and an “extra small” portable design. Fully sealed and weather-proof rated to IP67, the PTU-5 can also be used outdoors. “By doing away with the separate controller box, and including a unique ability to home the axes without returning to zero, the PTU-5 is easy to set-up and has a fast start-up sequence,” adds the company.
