September 24, 2018 - Z-AXIS, an electronic design and contract manufacturing service provider near Rochester, NY, has made two additions to its team who will help to service the Canadian market.

Steve Kelly, the new director of business development, brings more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing for engineering design and manufacturing companies including Lumetrics and Bausch + Lomb. He leads worldwide sales at Z-AXIS.

As vice-president of sales and marketing at Lumetrics, a manufacturer of precision optical gauging systems and wave front sensors, Steve worked directly with key accounts, led an internal sales team, and managed a global network of independent sales representatives. Before joining Lumetrics, Steve was general manager with P&L responsibility for Bausch + Lomb’s $13M vision accessory business, selling optical products to consumer and industrial markets. He directed sales, marketing and operations functions including product development, procurement, product branding, sales forecasting and strategic plans.

Massimo Amadio, the new design engineering manager, has more than 24 years of leadership and supply chain management experience with technology companies ITT, Trane, Solectron, Xerox and Eldre Corporation (now Mersen).

At ITT, he created and led a team for the industrial process value centre, focusing on growth, transactional pricing, sales operations and voice of customer. He held managerial roles in ERP integration, purchasing, pricing, industrial process and commodity management teams. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt project manager, he led projects in manufacturing and the transactional office environment and led Kaizen and Lean initiatives.
