Jan. 22, 2015 – Following a successful inaugural year that saw five students across North America receive financial support and on-site learning experience, Intertek has renewed its scholarship and internship program for students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields.

Winners will receive a scholarship of up to $10,000 paired with a paid internship at an Intertek office for the upcoming summer.

The scholarship reflects a commitment to promoting STEM education and inspiring students to pursue their dreams, said the company. In particular, Intertek said it is encouraging female candidates to apply for the scholarship and internship experience in an effort to foster the advancement of women in engineering fields.

“Intertek continues to be at the cutting edge of the engineering and scientific industries, and we are honoured to be investing in the next generation of leaders,” said Julie Vlahos, Intertek vice-president of global products and U.S. marketing.
