Absopulse RWR 252-P400 DC-DC converters boast 3.5Vn surge withstand capacity

Aug. 23, 2016 – Absopulse says its RWR 252-P400 series of dual output, railway quality DC-DC converters deliver up to 250W.

With an input surge withstand capability of 3.5Vn for 20 msec., the series meets RIA12, the general specification for the protection of traction and rolling stock equipment from transients and surges in DC control systems, notes the company, adding that the units also meet the requirements of EN50155 for electronic equipment used on rolling stock. The EN50155 input ranges include 24VDC (14.4-34V), 36VDC (22-51V), 48VDC (29-67V), 72VDC (43-101V), 96VDC (58-135V) or 110VDC (66-154V); outputs V1 and V2 each provide 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V or 125Vdc. Users can also request custom input and output voltages. According to Absopulse, the units are fully encapsulated with a thermally conductive MIL-grade silicon rubber compound with a UL94V-0 flammability rating.
