The Canadian Shield has developed the Vizor, an eye shield made of 100 per cent recyclable plastic that attaches to face masks.

The Waterloo, Ont.-based medical device manufacturer has filed a patent application for its proprietary PPE solution, which is targeted at front-line workers in manufacturing facilities, hospitals, health care setting, etc.

Available in compact, flat-packed packages of 50, the slim profile of the Vizor is a space-saver on the front lines, the company says.

The ability to separate the Vizor from the mask body means that the Vizor can be fully recycled.

The Canadian Shield has heavily invested in manufacturing over the past year to produce not only products, but also Made-in-Canada medical mask manufacturing automation lines and machine vision systems equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology capabilities.
